ORB PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION

One of my favorite things to do at Cassadaga is to take my camera and try to capture Orbs and interesting energy streaks. The photo at the left appears to have faces and looks to me to have spirits in it! I can tell you there was no photographic reason for this photo to have come out this way. I had the photo on a regular setting and shutter speed and there was no extra or outside light that could have influenced this.

Participants in the Retreat will be asked to bring cameras with them. There are varying opinions as to whether film or digital cameras work best. I personally prefer to bring my Canon 10D which is a digital camera. I also use a flash as most of the time the best conditions for orbs are when it's night.

You don't have to have an expensive camera, I've seen some exceptional photos taken with fairly inexpensive cameras.

We got LOTS of orb photos during our recent October workshop, and I will be doing a slide-show presentation of them in the next few days!!

I'm going to tell you to bring comfortable hiking shoes and or sneakers as we'll be tramping around by Spirit Pond at night. We'll also walk around Cassadaga as the houses themselves can yield very interesting photographic results lik ethe one above. Not hard to walk at all, but the point is you don't want to be wearing sandals or open-toed shoes. I'd also suggest a light sweater or sweatshirt as it can get cooler in the evenings. A zipped hoodie would be perfect! Bring lots of film or extra memory cards. I often take a few hundred photos!

I can't promise you'll get orbs in your photos - no one can. But I generally do get at least a couple, if not more, interesting ones. An example of a lot of orbs in a photograph can be seen at the right here. I didn't take this particular photo, it's just an example of the type of things people can capture.
