THE INCREDIBLE LIST

Most people think they know what they want. Actually, knowing what one doesn't want is a little closer to the truth!

The Incredible List

Here is a technique that will serve two purposes. One, it will help you fine tune exactly what it is you do want. Second, it will help you achieve what you want. It is very easy to do and does not take much time.

Simply make a list of everything and anything you want. As you write each item, quickly visualize what it would be like to have it. You do not need to spend much time, just a few seconds. For those who don't feel they are "good" at visualization, simply think about it for a few seconds. That will work!

Now, when I say everything - this means your longterm goals right down to the "little" things. Don't worry about being materialistic, or if you feel your goals aren't "worldly" or "important". They are to you and that is all that counts.

Do not show this list to anyone. Since it will be seen only by you, there will be less likelihood of you "censoring" it. If you believe someone might see it, then you are likely to feel that some of the things you place on it are selfish. This is your list, not something to be judged by other's values.

Then simply review your list each day. Actually, it works more quickly if you can take the time to quickly review it three times a day. When you achieve or receive something on the list - rewrite the list.

As you rewrite the list, you'll find that you'll make changes. You may have put down, `I want a new job'. Soon, you may find, `well...yes, I want a new job, but I really want a new job in such-and-such a field, and I need to make such-and-such a salary'. Later on, you may add more, such as where you want to work, the city and state, or even the hours you are willing to work.

By reviewing and changing your list, you actually start finding out exactly what you want. As you go along, you will be able to pinpoint specific goals, wants and needs.

The one thing I do need to mention is that you need to be somewhat realistic. If you put down you want a job that pays a salary of a million dollars a year, unless you realistically have the talent or ability - that's going to be a tough one. On the other hand, don't sell yourself short!

This technique does take three things: belief, expectancy, and desire. You have to believe that it is possible. Even if it is hard, but you know it could be possible then it will be effective.

Expect that it will happen - use positive thinking here! And, last of all - you need to want it. Do not be half-hearted about things. Let's say you place something on your list because it's something you believe you should put down, and not because you really want it. It won't be very effective. I know some of you will feel you should put down unselfish goals. Again, this is your list, and should reflect what you personally want and need.

Once you start being specific, you are more likely to achieve or receive actual results! Many of you may already use positive-thinking or metaphysical-type techniques of "asking the universe" for certain goals and material wishes. Make these more powerful by being exact about what you want!

The funny byproduct I've noticed about using this technique is it is amazing how fast the "little things" come about! The first time I used this technique, at the bottom of my list I had written I wanted a gold bracelet. By the next day, I had seven of them!

Tips on How I Use The List

Since I know you will ask how best use this technique, I'll point out how I tend to use it. Fit it to your needs!

I like to use a steno pad and use it only for my list. When I was in the 9-5 workforce, it was an easy way to take my list with me. At the top of each list, I like to place the date I did the list. As I rewrite the list, I date it. (I like to go back over my previous lists to see how far I've come with goals, and my thinking).

I also am very much into Essential Oils, and spray my list lightly with an blend called, Abundance**. (If you want to order some for yourself - see bottom of this page. I take a spray bottle, fill it with water and place about 15 drops of the essential oil in it).

Yes, I do "work" my list three times a day. I tend to do any rewriting at night since that is when I have the most time. I'll look at it in the morning, around lunch time, and again in the evening.

How Does This Work?

Here's another question I already know someone will want to know! Part of this is a psychological technique, in that it helps you define goals, wants and needs. The other part is "metaphysical". It is, in effect, akin to "asking the universe" for what you want. There are many books and articles on this subject, as well as on this web site. I can tell you it is effective. Give it a try. My feeling is you have nothing to lose but a few minutes out of each day, or a few pieces of paper. You have everything to gain!

Relationships

Another question I know will be asked is regarding relationships. Many people may want a relationship with a specific person. I do not feel that we can "control" other people. Yes, this technique can be very effective with relationships, however not everything is achievable, or should be achievable. My belief system is that the "Universe" steps in when necessary and will not grant wishes that will hurt other people. And, I have always felt that one should be a little circumspect with what one wants. Would you really want a relationship with someone who is married to or involved with someone else? My caution here is think about what you are asking for, and decide if it will truly make you happy.
